A warehouse wedding
A wonderous warehouse wedding
This warehouse wedding is extra extra extra special to me. It’s the wedding of my sister, Chloe, to Brin. Not only did I have the absolute honour of being bridesmaid, Chloe and Brin also wanted to use pieces from the Betty May collection to add vintage accents to their gorgeously green warehouse wedding at Laurens Hall, North Melbourne.
They chose Laurens Hall with its blank canvas and warehouse vibe because they knew they could inject as much of themselves into the styling as possible. And the result is jaw dropping.
A colour palette of white, green, gold, blush, grey and crystal was chosen, and the hyped up florals were created to Chloe and Brin’s brief by botanical designers, Loose Leaf (here’s a fun fact, all the wild pampas grass in the oval-arch and bouquets was foraged by Brin in the week leading up to the wedding!).
The tablescapes show that you shouldn’t be scared to mix up eras and styles – they’re a beautiful blend of the contemporary and antique. Featuring Bentwood chairs, white plates, gold cutlery, grey linen, blush napkins and our vintage glassware, the look is luxe, romantic and refined and contrasts beautifully against the gritty industrial feel of Laurens Hall.
The whiskey bar was a crowd favourite with all crystal decanters and whiskey tumblers carefully sourced by us and styled on the day by Lettuce & Co. Other favourite elements include the sumptuous grazing table with freshly sliced cured meats by Fresh Fork, Fireball whiskey shots as the bomboniere, the retro style photo booth, and of course, my second daughter, Sidney, who was just 9 days old at the wedding.
Reflecting on Chloe’s best moment of day she said, “There were so many, but my favourite was seeing Brin for the first time. He wouldn’t tell me what he was wearing so it was a big reveal for both of us, it was such an amazing, overwhelming feeling of excitement with lots of giggles and having our daughter, Tavi, there made it even more perfect.”
