In A Rosé Daze
PICNIC x HIGH TEA IN 2019
With the sunshine still shining down, it’s got many of us heading outside to lay out the picnic blanket to eat all the cheese and drink all the rosé before winter hits.
And it was these summer vibes that had us assembling some of Central Victoria’s best wedding creatives to show the world what they’ve got and prove that the country has talent in equal measure to their city pals.
So together we created ‘Rosé Daze’ – a picnic x high tea scene set amongst the vines of a private vineyard on the outskirts of Bendigo.
But this ain’t no ordinary picnic. Conceptually it’s a bridal shower for our bride-to-be, Tavi, but it’s got a refined edge with plenty of beautiful vintage details and organic textures for a look that works just as well for a wedding.
The colour palette was inspired by the vineyard’s 2018 rosé ‘Don’t Fence Me In’ and is full of pink and salmon tones with pops of unexpected red for richness and drama. Keeping the look grounded and earthy are vintage Bendigo Pottery vessels, old timbers, textured beeswax candles and fringed picnic rugs.
Key elements include a trio of cheese wheels that could easily be mistaken for cakes; vintage cake stands laden with fruit, breads and cheeses; a showstopper of a drinks station on an old caravanette; coffee in teacups; and rose iced tea (because you still need to serve tea at a high tea!).
Take in all the images by Bendigo locals Jess White Photography and Petit Pixel Design, then let us know, is this the picnic of all picnics?
Also now featured over at Wed Shed. Hooray for rosé!
